Folks, I want to know what was your favorite elementary school teacher an why?
Here's mine:
Mr. Verity, who was my fourth grade teacher. He was by far the funniest and nicest teacher in our school. Not too mention also the best dressed. He holds a very special place in my heart. Mr. Verity took extra care of me when he found out that my mother and father were getting a divorce. I learned so much from him during my time in his classroom. He was the best.
I will pick out seven (7) random entries from the comments submitted below to be our winners. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO I HAVE A WAY TO CONTACT YOU IF YOU ARE CHOSEN!
That's it folks. Good luck and thanks for being part of the party!

my favorite teacher was mrs. jones. she was my kindergarten teacher and was so kind and loving. it's fun to see her today and still remember how she laid such a great foundation for learning in me!
wow, thanks! included email above.
My favorite elementary school teacher was Mrs. Walsh, 2nd grade. This is when we really started to get into reading aloud. Each morning she would let someone volunteer to read a book to the whole class. She wanted us all to take turns, but she knew how much I liked doing it so I'm pretty sure I got to read at least once a week! She was so great because she wanted us to learn on our own, but was always there for help and encouragement! Thanks Mrs. Walsh!
My favorite teacher was one of my 4th grade teachers. Mrs. Craig lived 2 apts down from me at the time. The school was walking distance, but she would give me a ride on the mornings that I had to bring my violin. When my parents bought a house in another town, I invited her to my going away sleepover (to judge a coloring contest I was having with my friends), and she baked a fresh batch of cookies to bring over. I missed her and never saw her again after we moved, but I will always remember her.
My favorite teacher was my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Heath. She was the best!! She is the one who inspired me to become a teacher!!!! I will never forget her...
My favorite teacher was my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Smyth. She was extremely kind to me. When my mother was going through a divorce, she couldn't afford to put me in an afterschool program, so Mrs. Smyth stayed with me at school until my mother could pick me up. Sometimes it was as late as 4 or 5. One day in particular I remember, for some reason there were maybe 15 helium balloons in the class. After all the kids left, she gave me every one of them. That just made my day. And I still remember it all these years later.
My Favorite Teacher Mrs. Smith 6th grade ... my father took ill that year and we had little money ... when it came time for the field trip to Sea World .. I did not ask my parents .. when she asked me if I gave the paper to my parents I told her no and why... she called my parents and arranged for them to sign the paper and she paid for me to go and made sure I had money to spend... Uears later my daughter started Kindergarten .. I volunteered a lot ... she being the princable ask me why I give so much of my time ... I told her because one day in the sixth grade a teacher had done an amazing thing for me .. I decided that day that I would give a child that one day... needless to say we were both in tears after the conversation..
My favorite Teacher was Mrs Duncan she was a great teacher and my cheerleading coach lots of great memories. Thanks for the chance to win this is on our wish List :-)
My favorite teacher was my kindarten teacher. She was great when I had her as a teacher but she was more of an influence to me when I job Xed (it's a job shadowing program my high school had) in her classroom. She is the reason I am teaching because she believed I had something special to share with children. I have my under grad in elementary education and I am currently working on my masters in special education. Thank you Mrs. Craig for believing in me and showing me I can make a difference in a child's life everyday by just doing what I love!
Guess I got excited and forgot the why she was always very encoraging and supportive and Lots of fun :-)
My favorite teacher was my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Dooley. Fantastic woman, they should make more teachers like her. She was fun but yet I learned so much from her. She was also great with the parents.
My 3rd grade teacher was Mrs. (Lillian) LaPointe. She didn't always use books to teach us. She would bring us down to the lunch room in the lower level of the 100+ year old school building, turn out the lights, and use a projector aimed at the wall to teach us the constellations by sight.
She would use a a record player in that same dark room so that we could learn to identify hundreds of bird songs.
I learned more from her in that one year that has remained with me throughout my life than any other teacher. When we sit outside on a starry night, I can point out constellations to my children. They listen for the songs of birds because I learned to listen to them when I was their age and younger.
Miss Gilmore was my favorite teacher. She was so nice and I was lucky enough to have her twice...for 4th and 6th grades! She was always so encouraging and boosted my confidence level. She especially encouraged my talents in art and math.
She also approached me to get involved with things such as student council...I probably would not have pursued such activities without her. : )
Mrs. Pruitt is the only one I remember.
here is Emels favourite teacher, because i cannot remember that far back!
Alison is her name why because she let us dog sit for her dog Lucy and as a result Emel got two puppies of her own DeeDee and Lewie who she chose and named herself and has an amazing relationship with and we thank her for that x
My favorite teacher it was "Tia Maria Ivone" in Brazil we dont say Mrs ..., we call all of our elementary teacher as "aunt ..." She was so great, and even after I grew up when she saw me she will come and talked to me. She made to my sweet 15th birthday party, 15th it is the big celebration party for teenagers in Brazil.
I think she was great and I am sure she was, because even a catholic priest left his ministry to get married with her, what a woman.
Folks, loving these teacher stories. Thanks so much for sharing. Teachers are such an amazing people!
My gr.3 teacher Mrs.Melnyk. She reminded me of Pam Dawber from Mork & Mindy. She brought The Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe alive for me by reading a chapter everyday in class. To this day it is my favorite book. She played guitar to our class. She was great.
I had the most incredible 5th and 6th grade teacher in a combined class named Mrs. Gluckman. She not only inspired us to reach our full potential she made the classroom come alive. She built a room sized globe out of chicken wire and after completion of assignments we used different colored tissue paper to form the countries. We were as assigned a country to research for the year and established pen pal relations. The project culminated with having us turn our desks into that country and students form the school got to learn about the culture, food, and history of each country. We went to Broadway to see Man of La Manch and ate at a Spanish restaurant. We spoke with John Glenn while he was in space, during our theater in the round performance in front of the school about "that was the year that was." (Kennedy was shot)Mrs. Gluckman was very creative and inspiring. She motivated all of us to reach for the stars. It was a "special class" in the county and an experiment in education. I feel so fortunate to have taken part in that experiment but blessed to have had a teacher who knew how to allow each of us to become our very best.
The teacher that stands out in my memory, is my 5th Grade teacher, Miss Stanza. She was very kind and always had a treat for each student every Friday. My family and I were moving from New York to Ireland, so she organised a class party for me. Miss Stanza also invited me to her house and gave me a going away gift. I was sad leaving the class, but she made me feel very special.
